A wet room is a fully waterproofed bathroom where the shower area drains into the floor without a tray or step. The entire floor and the shower walls are tanked and tiled so water falls, gathers and drains without any barrier.

Wet rooms reward patience and punish shortcuts. Here's the honest detail on how ours are built.
Substrate and structural falls
On timber floors, we form the fall using a pre-formed sloped tray that guarantees geometry — never a trowelled screed on flexing timber. On solid floors, falls are formed in screed with a laser-checked gradient into the drain.
Tanking specification
We use a bonded liquid membrane applied in two coats with a reinforcing mesh at internal corners and around the drain flange. Lap heights meet or exceed manufacturer minimums. Every layer is signed off before the next covers it.
Drainage and flow rate
Linear drains are set flush with tile, sized against your shower's flow rate. Gaskets meet the drain-manufacturer spec. Access for future cleaning is designed in — no unbroken tile over an inaccessible trap.
Tile choice and slip rating
Wet-room floors need R10 minimum slip rating (R11 in genuine wet-zone areas). We'll steer you clear of any tile that photographs beautifully but turns lethal wet — and towards ones that photograph beautifully and don't.
Screens, glass and shower fixtures
10mm toughened glass screens set into channel or with brace bars where required. Concealed-body thermostatic shower valves plumbed to allow future service without breaking tiles.
Extraction and lighting
Correctly-sized mechanical extraction ducted to outside — critical in a room without a shower tray to contain steam. IP-rated LED downlighters in wet zones. Everything to Part P.
